Rex 3 provides marketing fulfillment services to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) and its 28 ships, as well as the ships of the Azamara and Celebrity sister cruises lines. Rex 3 designed and implemented an ordering and fulfillment portal handling thousands of orders and shipments per year. This custom integration uses web services to interact directly with Royal Caribbean’s ERP system.

The Challenge

Rex 3 was contracted to manufacture and fulfill printed items destined for shipboard use.

The Solution

We store all printed items at Rex and process fulfillment orders to the ships directly, automating all interactions with the client. We provide error-free and automated receipt of purchase order, confirmation of purchase order, advanced shipping notification, and invoicing.

The customer accesses custom reports designed to help them evaluate inventory usage and aging, and track product flow across the fleet. This allows for print on demand manufacture of items. A digital asset management portal links the inventory reports to a robust graphic environment so that marketing can monitor brand compliance and control versioning. Setting up new products is simple. Marketing staff and their graphics departments upload files and approve them using Rex’s virtual proof-routing service.

The Results

From inception the vendor portal was designed to allow Rex to receive and process hundreds of orders per week in an efficient and error-free manner. Through annual report cards from Royal Caribbean we have been able to maintain Gold Vendor Status with 99.8 % order accuracy.
